Royal Foundation launch “Heads Together” campaign to end stigma of mental health

Tagged In:  Mental Health

Following the announcement last month that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would be teaming up with Prince Harry to launch ‘Heads Together’, a new campaign to end mental health stigma, the trio have made a high profile appearance to mark the official launch of the campaign.

Using their Royal Foundation, they have joined together to work with eight of the country’s leading mental health charities in a bid to help people feel more confident in speaking out about mental health issues, and to improve frontline services for those in need.

Speaking at the launch, the Royals gave a joint speech which highlighted their vision to promote better mental health, making it clear that they wished to see the national conversation change “from one of silence and shame, to one of optimism and support”.

Prince Harry also stated: “We do not want prejudice and fear to stand in the way of people getting the help they need to cope with life. As the year progresses, the three of us – working with all of you in this room and others who will join us along the way – want to come up with practical ways of providing everyone who needs help with the right support and care.”

The involvement of the senior royals with this campaign positions them as three of the world’s most high profile campaigners for mental health. Their personal involvement in the cause has already seen ‘Heads Together’ announced as the official charity of the year for the 2017 Virgin Money London Marathon

‘Heads Together’ will work closely with the following charities;

Best Beginnings

Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM)
