Sanctuary Health has a permanent vacancy for a band 6 occupational therapist to work on a neuro rehab team in East London.

The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of occupational therapy and be registered with the HCPC.

The salary for this role is £26,290 - £36,428 per annum.

Duties:
- To work as part of a team providing occupational therapy input to clients with complex HIV issues requiring rehabilitation whilst living in the community.
- To deliver both individual and group work within a rehabilitation model to meet the needs of the client group
- To liaise with and report to internal and external professionals, family members, volunteers, and clients.
- To work as a clinical professional with knowledge and skills, problem solving and clinical reasoning in a specialist area
- To manage, with support and supervision, and prioritise a caseload of clients with complex mental/physical health needs and/or challenging behaviour.
- To use evidence based/client centred principles and clinical reasoning to assess, plan, implement and evaluate intervention
- To plan and deliver a number of groups and interventions as planned in the rehabilitation timetable for the clients of Day Therapy
- To assess and monitor the client's need for equipment and the recommendation/provision of this, e.g. raised toilet seats, adaptive cutlery, commode/shower chairs and minor adaptations as required (grab rails)
- To be committed to continuous professional development.
- To supervise and educate the Rehabilitation Assistants in all aspects of rehab, goal setting, reporting and working as a team.
- To supervise students

Requirements of the occupational therapist:
- Degree or equivalent within occupational therapies
- HCPC registered as an occupational therapist
- Recent post qualifying experience working as an occupational therapist
