    Sanctuary Health has a job vacancy for a Band 5 Inpatient Physiotherapist to work full time in Welwyn. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of Physiotherapy and be registered with the HCPC.

    The pay rate for this locum Physiotherapist job is £20 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.

    -QVM hospital is a 22-bed inpatient community hospital. Patients are referred in from acute trusts following illness and surgery or from home as prevention of admissions cases. They follow one of three pathways; a 19-day rehab pathway, a complex pathway where timescales are set on an individual bases and a NWB pathway.
    - We need a band 5 physiotherapist to work Monday to Friday 8.30-16.30. Weekend shifts may be available if needed but will be discussed prior to implementation. The candidate must be able to deliver high quality physiotherapy input; including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and advice to patients with various needs. Experience in orthopaedics, care of the elderly, and neurology is a must.
    - The candidate must hold clinical responsibility for a designated caseload of patients and organise this efficiently and effectively with regards to clinical priorities and use of time. Although senior physiotherapy support is available, at times the candidate will have to take on this responsibility without direct supervision from a senior physiotherapist. This includes delegating workload to the therapy assistants / physiotherapy students.
    - The candidate must be able to undertake the continuous assessment and evaluation of their treatment programmes and modify the programmes according to the individual patient needs.
    - An awareness of the following outcome measures and clinical assessments is desirable: elderly mobility scale, patient functional score, patient reported outcome measures, extended falls assessment, berg balance, Tuag test,
    - Experience of running groups is desirable as it is required that the candidate facilitates the weekly exercise and falls groups alongside a therapy assistant / student.
    - They need to play an active part in discharge planning including liaising with the multidisciplinary team about equipment and care needs, and making referrals to other outside services such as: intermediate care teams, neurological community teams and outpatient rehab services.

    Main Requirements of the Physiotherapist:
    - Degree or equivalent within Physiotherapy
    - HCPC registered as a Physiotherapist
    - Experience in inpatient
    - Elderly care, predominantly discharge planning, recent hospital experience
