Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated band 6 health visitor to fill a full-time role in Milton Keynes. The ideal candidates will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of nursing and be registered with the NMC.

The pay rate for this locum health visitor job is £23.50 per hour (LTD Company Equivalent) and is an initial 3-month contract.

- Undertake initial family health needs assessments or delegate the responsibility where appropriate to other members of the team.
- Identify vulnerable families and mobilise appropriate resources.
- Prioritise workload to reflect a service based on reducing health inequalities.
- Manage workload in a corporate way within the integrated team.
- Ensure effective and equitable management of workload within the team.
- Be pro-active in multi-agency networking and collaboration to improve life chances for all children.
- Offer Health Visitor expertise to clients within a community setting.
- Manage and develop skill mixed staff within the integrated team.
- Identify actual or suspected child abuse. Follow Milton Keynes Multi-Agency Code of Practice and Community Health Services child protection policies.
- Attend child protection conferences and core groups as required or delegate responsibility where appropriate to other members of the team.
- Work in partnership with vulnerable families to enable optimum health gains.
- Undertake risk assessments prior to home visits.

Requirements of the health visitors:
- Degree or equivalent in nursing
- Current NMC registration
- Significant NHS experience as a health visitor
