Band 6 Mental Health Occupational Therapist

Sanctuary Health is currently looking for an experienced and dedicated mental health occupational therapist to work in Taunton. The ideal candidate will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of occupational therapy and be registered with the HCPC.

The pay rate for this locum occupational therapist job is £28 (LTD Company Equivalent) per hour and is an initial 3-month contract.

To manage a designated clinical caseload to a high professional standard, using theoretical and practical experience, within the process and practices of Occupational Therapy, and will work as a member of a multidisciplinary team

- Complete full assessments, plan, implement intervention and evaluate outcomes as per department care-pathway, enabling the patient in areas of self-maintenance, productivity and leisure.
- Plan and implement individual and group interventions collaboratively with patient/s.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including care notes, written reports and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital and professional standard.
- Establish effective communication with patients and their carers, all staff and other agencies.
- Apply core knowledge and skills in order to demonstrate professional proficiency

Requirements of the occupational therapist:
- Degree or equivalent within occupational therapies
- HCPC registered as an occupational therapist
- Recent post qualifying experience working as an occupational therapist
