    Description

    Sanctuary Health has a permanent job vacancy based in Bristol for a Supervisory Ward Manager with a salary of £41,400 - £45,220 per annum.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    - Listening to patients and their carers will be fundamental in your role gaining patient experience feedback.
    - You will have excellent communication skills and you will be expected to ensure robust communication with your nursing team and with the Head of Nursing/Deputy to ensure clear direction for all nursing staff. As a member of the senior nursing team you will be expected to communicate effectively and work alongside the wider MDT.
    - You will incorporate clinical supervisions and teaching into your practice and ensure the clinical environment is conducive to teaching and learning by maximising every opportunity as a learning opportunity.
    - You will form part of the senior nurse rota when on duty and will have oversight of both units and act as the key point of contact.
    - You will be expected to be part of the out of hours on call team through a rota system.

    Requirements of the Ward Manager:
    - NMC registration
    - Previous experience within a similar role
    - Degree within general nursing or mental health nursing
    - Experience of change management within a clinical area as part of the continuous improvement cycle in practice and able to adopt varying strategies to work with the nursing team. You will have a high level of problem-solving skills.
    - Proven skills in clinical leadership and be emotionally intelligent and resilient.
    - Clinically competent in a wide range of nursing skills that will include tracheostomy management, recognition of the deteriorating patient and escalation, managing challenging behaviour to name but a few.
    - Good level of understanding and experience of undertaking quality audits incorporated as part of your daily work and use the results to inform and change practice.
